Don’t Pay Monthly for Amazon Prime!

Straying away from Apple news today, Amazon announced that they are increasing the monthly cost for Amazon Prime from $10.99 to $12.99. If you pay monthly for Amazon Prime Student, the price is increasing by $1 from $5.49 to $6.49.

Of course this is a terrible deal.

Amazon charges $99 for its annual Prime plan and $49 for students, which is remaining the same. This increase in price makes the monthly payment option even more silly.

Amazon hasn’t increased its price since it raised its annual cost from $79 to $99, which I’m still bitter about. But I love Amazon Prime. Like Apple, I am very much locked into that ecosystem and will continue pay a premium for fast and quality service.

Do you subscribe to Amazon Prime? If so, what do you think about this price hike?

Thanks for stopping in!

  1. I didn’t even know there was a monthly payment option lol. I’ve been paying yearly FOREVER. Pretty sure when I signed up it was free with a .edu email address. Oh the perks of going to school…
